Clearly

lily-pads-october-2016

The water in the ponds and lakes is SO clear at this time of year,
and I never realized that lily pads change color just as the leaves on the trees do.

  8. Oh Lisa! The pastel colors on the lily pads are just beautiful! But you know I really love pastels….this would make a beautiful print. And yes, the water clarity is amazing. I’ve only seen that clarity in Michigan, or in clean streams (not locally). This beauty was a perfect morning sight today! Have a wonderful week my friend!! xx

  17. Hi Lisa – wonderful clarity and simplicity ! The waterlilies in my pond went from a deep green to brown to the bottom of the pond (to feed next year’s growth I presume). Then again, they were scavenged from the wild which might explain their lack of late season color.

    Thanks for dropping by.

  19. I didn’t know that either, maybe it is just where it gets cold enough that they do? I haven’t seen that happen here. Such pretty leaf color. Hope you are enjoying your fall Lisa.

  24. I’m so impressed with the clarity of the water and lily pad capture. From my diving days it reminds me of a jellyfish and its tentacles. Don’t you just want to jump in and go snorkelling?

  25. Those lily pads! What a beautiful composition, Lisa, so elegant. I love the colors of the pads, the delicate graceful stems, and those little ripples, casting their rainbow lights on the bottom. That water really is amazingly clear. It almost disappears in the second image. Have a wonderful week, dear friend.
