It’s the Little Things : : 1

Back in September (told you I was way behind with photos!), I was asked to photograph the 50th-anniversary celebration of a local airport.  Now this sort of photography is definitely not my thing, but it was a friend who asked, so there was no question.

I’ve asked myself many times, why it might be that this sort of photography is just so far from anything I like doing, and I really don’t have an answer.  Could it be fear of failure??  I suppose, but I also believe that there are far worse things in life, so I don’t think that’s it.

I guess what I most love to photograph are those happy accidents.  All that really is not planned.  Fortunately, that day provided a few very unexpected, and very happy accidents!

These are some of them.

Have a wonderful week, and I hope that wherever you may be, it’s a whole lot warmer than it is here!

  2. I understand. I’m not into posed photos or being ‘in the way’ with my camera – rather photography is a not pressure pleasure I enjoy. I’m pleased you found and enjoyed those happy accidents! 🙂

  6. As I looked at these, I thought, wow, how summery – Lisa must be on vacation somewhere warm! 🙂 No, it isn’t any warmer here than where you are, though we did have a couple of very warm days with some rain this week that melted all the snow. Now it’s cold again, but at least the sun is shining and that makes me happy. xo

  8. LOL! Leave it to you to find these fun captures at an airport anniversary! That is what is so special about your photography. You always capture the essence of whatever topic you choose. Photos of planes would have missed the mark completely. 🙂 I hope you had wonderful holidays. I’ve been MIA and just now getting back into a routine. xo

  11. Surprises are always the best. Little unexpected moments are sometimes hard to capture (they can disappear in an instant), but I think that is what makes this kind of photography so gratifying.

  17. Lisa, you know I think many of us who take photographs end up with happy accidents, right along with the file 13 accidents! I happen to adore the one of the girl with the ice cream cone. Wow. May you roam new unexplored roads like this in 2017.

  20. It takes a very special person to do portrait photography, I have a lot of happy accidents or maybe I should say not a lot just happy. Love the sharpness in all of these.

  21. Your words pretty much sums up how I take event pictures – candids and unexpected happy times. When I’m shooting that way, my heart gets very excited and my eyes are constantly watching for the next moment, unposed, and full of fun. Your photos are always so lovely! The weather is full of wind and rain here.
