Container Gardening

The old car was a wonderful find (it’s been in this spot since 1989), but I absolutely love the boot idea.
My son just may find that one of his many old boots, has gone missing.  😉
Have a great week!!

  1. LOVE these shots, Lisa!! This concept is something we love to find during our exploration of the island we live on, and my wife and I have talked often of getting an old Ford Model-A hull and using it in this manner. GREAT shots, both of them!!! Cheers my friend!

  9. Love the truck. It amazes me how these things are never moved. In not such a beautiful setting, there is an old car parked on someones drive near me which has been there at least the 17years that we have been here.. Hope all is well with you x

  17. I cannot begin to tell you how much I love that car.
It seems to have taken on a life of its own, such character, so much to say!
And the boot idea: SUPERB. Brilliant.

  20. Your title is brilliant, and those plants growing right out of the hood of that old vehicle are amazing. What a fantastic find! The succulents in the boot are great too, but oh, that car in the woods…that’s just stunning!

  21. Love the boot and the old car 🙂 I have an old bike temporarily looking sad and was thinking nature growing wildly around it would improve it’s style 🙂

  22. Ah, Lisa, I just finished a day in the sewing room, and coming up for “fresh air”…these two “containers” are so fun, especially the boot! That old jeep definitely has a purpose. Love the humor in both of these. Happy week dear friend!

  23. The old vehicle is so cool! One would not expect to see foliage growing from a car hood. Nice work with the old boot Lisa. That is something you can have a lot of fun with. The contrast of beautiful life growing out of a tired old shoe is so fantastic.

  24. Whoa Lisa! You car’s been there for as long as I’ve been around… 😀
And as for the boot, it was well worth it… 🙂

  25. Wow, is that Jeep on your property? My husband would probably find a way to restore it and get it back on the road. He loves vintage cars. 🙂 But it certainly makes for an unexpected container gardening! I haven’t tried old boots, but I do like planting flowers in unusual containers. They sure add some originality to the garden! Have a great summer, my friend! xo

    • No, it’s not mine, Loredana. I was planting flowers on my Mom’s grave over the Memorial Day weekend, and this is in the woods surrounding the cemetery. I actually did not see it, but my husband did!
Happy day to you, my friend.
      xo.

  27. Yes, that old jeep-like vehicle is a wonderful find, especially those plants growing in front of the windscreen! As for the boot, I have seen them over here, sometimes at the side of a front door! Nature tends to take over when we let it. It has such strength and the power to survive!

  31. How creative: container gardening! I’ve seen old abandoned vehicles like this before but never had the creative thought process to think of it as container gardening — so clever. I love your photography of both of these beautiful examples. Happy summer Lisa!

  32. So fun! I’ve seen similar ones featuring old vehicles but not one in a boot! Hmmmm, i might have to snag one the hubby’s old boots and plant a succulent. Great pics and happy week to you beautiful! xo

  33. I ALWAYS like images depicting something man-made while nature takes back what is rightfully their’s in the first place. Incredible find, Lisa. Clever way of repurposing that old boot.

Have a happy week young lady. 🙂
